Campout Cinema: Pump Up the Volume – 21+
September 22, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm
This event is 21+.
Dir. Allan Moyle (1990, R, 102 min.)
A teenage outcast starts a revolution in his sleepy Phoenix suburb with a pirate FM radio station in the Campout Cinema screening of Pump Up the Volume (1990).
Mark Hunter is typical suburban teen by day, but by night he is “Hard Harry” a no-nonsense DJ who is not afraid to tell it like it is. When a peer commits suicide, Hunter refuses to back down, pushing his fellow teens to face their problems head on. As tensions in the town begin to mount, the FCC is brought in to investigate. Can Hunter control the revolution he’s created?
See Christian Slater, Samantha Mathis, and Annie Ross in this quintessential ‘90s classic.
Includes admission to our David Bowie by Mick Rock and Guitar Gallery: A Quest for Volume exhjibits before the film and during intermission.
