In Memoriam: Blake Edwards

December 16, 2010• bySeattle Gay Scene

Sad news: Acclaimed film director/writer Blake Edwards has passed at age 88 from complications from pneumonia. The director is best known for creating the iconic “Pink Panther” series of movies with Peter Sellars and for his films with wife Julie Andrews including S.O.B., 10, and the beloved gay themed Victor/Victoria which was later developed into a successful stage production by Mr Edwards. Some of his other successes include Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Great Race, and Days of Wine and Roses. Mr Edwards received an Honorary Academy Award in 2004 for his body of work.

Here’s a clip from Victor/Victoria. Enjoy it while we drink a toast to Blake Edwards.
