The Wildrose is turning 26 years old next Thursday, December 30th, and they are having a birfday/anniversary blowout to celebrate. DJ Ricki Leigh will be on hand plus Burlesque and Go Go Dancers and a chance to win some lovely door prizes. The hootin’ and the hollerin’ starts at 8:30pm.
And, of course, the next night is New Year’s Eve and the ‘Rose is planning a big night o’fun for their loyal patrons. Lady Jane DJ will be the main course with special appearances from the Lezbro team of L.A. Kendall and Tony Burns, (who are also working the Fringe event at The Eagle…they’re going to be buzzing up and down Pike Street apparently.) There is nothing on the poster or invite about the cover charge…we’ll track them down and try to find out what the skinny is on that…(I’m guessing $10). Doors open at 9pm for the NYE party.
Oh, and the ‘Rose is open Christmas night, too, also at 9pm. It looks like many of the bars on the Hill will be open Xmas night, but most will be opening in the evening and several bartenders I talked to indicated that if it’s slow, they might close early, so plan accordingly. Don’t assume everything is open and will stay open to traditional closing hours. Bar staff do NOT want to hang around an empty bar when they could be at home or a better party…
