Kathy Najimy joins Seattle Women’s Chorus for “Swing Into Laughter”.

February 25, 2011• bySeattle Gay Scene

The divalicious actress Kathy Najimy joins Seattle Women's Chorus for "Swing Into Laughter" this Friday and Saturday at Benaroya Hall.

Actress Kathy Najimy, best known for her work in Sister Act and as the voice of Peggy Hill on King of the Hill joins the Seattle Women’s Chorus for “Swing Into Laughter” the Chorus’s winter concert for 2011 at Benaroya Hall, for two concerts, TONIGHT, Friday, February 25 at 8pm and Saturday, February 26 at 2pm. The acclaimed actress and activist was named “Woman of the Year” in 2005 for her work in promoting woman’s rights but she is best known for her acting:

For 14 seasons she provided the voice of “Peggy Hill,” on the Emmy award winning FOX TV hit King of the Hill, (Annie award and 2 Women In Film awards) and for three seasons she performed opposite Kirstie Alley as “Olive” on NBC’s Veronica’s Closet, (American Comedy Award.) Najimy is known internationally for her portrayal of “Sister Mary Patrick” in the blockbuster hitsSister Acts 1 and 2, (ACA Awards, and Hollywood Press discovery of the Year Award). Kathy was heard in Pixar’s OSCAR winning animated feature Wall-E, and in all of Disney’s: Tinkerbell Trilogy…She is (also) shamefully proud of the gold chip she won as the tournament champion on Celebrity Poker Showdown and the $100,000.00 she won to benefit V-day. And was the final championship winner on CBS’s Game Show Marathon with the 100 thousand Grand prize going to at-risk teen-age girls.

Join the divine Ms Najimy and the Chorus for a night of comedy and song as they successfully answer the question, “Can a Woman’s Chorus be funny?” The answer is YES if you have Kathy Najimy on hand…I’m a HUGE fan of her from King of the Hill and while the movie itself is a bit of a mess, she was hysterically funny in Hocus Pocus and managed to upstage Bette Midler a time or two. Ms Najimy got her “big break” with her stage partner Mo Gaffney in The Kathy and Mo Show. (Ms Gaffney is probably best known to gay audiences as the recurring character “Bo” on AbFab, the ditzy nut who married Eddy’s first husband.) Kathy and Mo made an AWESOME comedy team.
