SGS reader John Trautman thought he had a good deal last week when it appeared the city was offering free parking when its high tech parking meters were on the fritz but that joy was short lived when the system later electronically charged him twice for parking he didn’t receive. The city seemed oblivious to the problem, so John went to KING5 News who filed this report. And, Capitol Hill wasn’t the only area affected as meters in five Seattle neighbors have crashed in the last several days. SDOT claims the problem has been fixed, but meters were still down on the Hill as of yesterday. Happily, John got his problem rectified, but not everyone has been so lucky.
If you’ve had a problem with a meter or received a ticket unjustly, call the city at 206-733-9241.
