We’ve already yakked a lot about The Social, the huge, 12,000 square foot club coming to East Olive Way this summer, a joint venture between Alex Garcia, Shanon Thorson and Laura Olson. The new venue, located at 1715 East Olive Way near the new location of the just reopened C.C. Attle’s, and the recently opened new venue, Fred Wildlife Refuge and Tommy Gun is being heralded as a welcome addition to not only that part of Capitol Hill, but to the city’s LGBTQ nightlife in general. Construction crews are at work on the new space and the owners had hoped to have the place ready for a pre-Pride event, but that party, Seattle Ruckus Pride Party has moved to Grim’s at 1512 11th Avenue on Thursday, June 23 with more events to follow over Pride weekend. In honor of Lady Gaga releasing “Born This Way” we are throwing a Monster Ball. So if your bad kid, degenerate young rebel and proud of it come drink and dance the night away and show your Gaga pride. DJ Richard Dalton (c89.5 and DJ pbear will be throwing down some Gaga inspired sets**Sunday – TBA (details coming soon)

NARK will be playing Sunday of Pride weekend, and miss Juanita More will be making a monthly appearance at The Social starting first Saturday in August!
I’m truly hoping that they commit to having underground music at the club. It would really make the place stand out above the Top 40 drudge that the Seattle gay scene is stuck in. I’ve heard this from multiple people who all agree too.
How about some decent Trance & Tribal music! If 1 more club plays only gagag, rihanna, etc, I’ll puke.

Wow… it’s friggin awesome that this new place will help to redefine nightlife in this city. It’s really kind of promising knowing that a number of key players see a very clear vision for what needs to be the new cornerstone of Seattle nightlife on Capitol Hill!
