The Book Of Mormon Opens Tuesday…You CAN Still Get A Ticket

The “Hot Musical Du Jour” is arriving in Seattle, tomorrow, Tuesday January 8th for a sold out run at The Paramount Theater…but, you still have hope if you wanna get a ticket. Obviously, you can always go to a ticket broker and pay big bucks, or a scalper (illegal and risky). If you ain’t rich and prefer to be legal, you have one other option as well. Every day during the run of the Seattle engagement, (through Sunday, January 20th), a ticket lottery will be held making 20 tickets available at $25 a piece. Here’s the skinny:

Entries will be accepted at the box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance; each person will print their name and the number of tickets (1 or 2) they wish to purchase on a card that is provided. Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets priced at $25 each. Cards are checked for duplication prior to drawing. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing and show valid ID to purchase tickets. Limit one entry per person and two tickets per winner. Tickets are subject to availability.

Yes, you have to put in some time and effort to do this, but if you’re determined to see the hottest musical on Broadway, you’re gonna have to work for it. The winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, “The Book of Mormon” is the Broadway debut from the creators of “South Park”, Trey Parker and Matt Stone and “Avenue Q” co-creator Robert Lopez. The story of two young Mormons on their first mission in Africa, “The Book of Mormon” won rave reviews and continues to play SRO houses on Broadway and at stops on its quickly sold out North American tour and is poised to take on London this spring.

I’m going on Wednesday…look for the review on Thursday.

If you don’t have tickets, get your butt down to the Paramount this week and enter that lottery!
