Three Dollar Bill Cinema’s Big Party, The Birdcage Is In Two Weeks…They Need Some Volunteers

Coming April 13, 2013…Three Dollar Bill Cinema’s annual dinner/auction: The Birdcage.

It’s happening Saturday, April 13 at Sodo Park/Herban Feast …Three Dollar Bill Cinema’s big annual dinner/auction, “The Birdcage”. You can still get tickets or a table to help them raise $$$ so they can continue to produce amazing events spotlighting queer film…events like the Translations Film Festival, showcasing films by and for the transgender community and coming up in May, as well as the huge annual Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival held in October.

You can also help them by volunteering for events like the dinner and auction…it takes a huge queer village to run a non-profit arts organization. Email volunteer@threedollarbillcinema.org if you’d like to volunteer for The Birdcage or any Three Dollar Bill event. It’s a terrific way to help out AND meet new people. Here’s some of the help they need for The Birdcage:

Set Up 9am-3pm

Help set up for auction. Decorate, set-up space, ensure all supplies and items are where they need to be. Helpful if you can lift or carry.

Golden Ticket Seller 4pm-8pm

The Golden Ticket is a raffle to get first pick at all the live-auction items. We need extroverted people who want to “work” the crowd. Write down the guest bidder number, hand them a small “thank you” item, and have fun!

Silent Auction Ninja 5pm-10pm

Monitor the silent auctions – close items that were purchased at a “Buy it Now” price. Remove silent bids when respective silent auction closes (there are 2 silent auctions). Bring bid forms to the “registration” area for others to process.

Qualities Needed: Assertive and fun personality, ability to move quickly, this is an active role. Bringing auction items to proper area & organizing for guest pickup at the end of the event. Help with auction area clean up when the auction ends.

Live Auction Runner 5pm-10pm

Give each live auction winner a small token to say thank you, and then bring the sales slip to item pick-up for processing. You are in charge of most of the night’s winnings, so please be energtic, dependable and fun!

Live Auction “Vanna White” 5pm-10pm

Live Auction Vanna. Find, bring up and show off live auction items on stage to help Auctioneer sell the item. After showing the item it needs to be returned to its original place.
