We had Spring, for a minute, and now it’s chilly again.
Ugh.
You can escape the grey by going inside and drinking and groovin’ to music tonight. The Mo Wave Queer Arts Festival gets musical starting this evening with a Happy Hour kick-off at Pony at 5pm but the main event is up the street at Chop Suey with Queen Mookie as the hostess for the line-up that includes:
The Need
Ononos
Shearing Pinx
Glitterbang
Addiquit
My Parade
It’s 21+ and $15.
If you can’t afford the pleasures of an event approved by The Stranger and KEXP, then head to The Seattle Eagle for “It’s My Birthday!” an orgy of music and naughtiness that includes:
DJs: KADEEJAH STREETS / SOUNDS IN SILENCE / PAVONE / JIMI JAXON
Dancers-
ROSS (pdx) / KIRK / JAMES
It’s allegedly a birfday hoo-ha for Nark. Please go spank him.
Over at Q, it’s “Flash” with a lot of fahncy out of town, big name djs to help you spin away the chilly blues…
SEPALCURE
Hotflush, Berlin/NYCwith special guest
WD4D
Care Package / Stop Bitingwith FLASH residents NORDIC SOUL & RECESS
Again, the doors open at 9pm with no cover, then it goes to $10 and Q is open past 2am (sans booze) when they let the 18+ crowd in. And, in our style book, we spell it: S-E-P-U-L-C-H-R-E but maybe they do things differently in Berlin.
Finally, at The Wildrose, it’s “Heavy Flow” the very special 80s dance party produced by DJ Tony Burns that has nothing to do with menstruation. It features special guest DJ Queen Lucky and a lot of great tunes from a decade that was sort of awful but full of great tunes.
Have fun…prosper.
Or, stay home and do your TAXES!
