Cherdonna Shinatra Shines In Her New Solo Show, “Worth My Salt”

Cherdonna

Cherdonna Shinatra is flying solo in Worth My Salt, her first full length solo show at Velocity Dance Center at 8:00 p.m. on October 17 – 19 and October 24 – 26. But, get your tickets fast. They’ve added a show on October 24 at 10 p.m., but most of the other nights are selling out.

Cherdonna Shinatra is the twitchy, seemingly clumsy, over-the-top, faux drag persona of Jody Kuehner. She is best recognized as part of the team behind The Cherdonna and Lou Show (along with Ricki Mason’s drag persona Lou Henry Hoover) who have appeared in five shows of their own as well as perennial local favorites Homo for the Holidays and Freedom Fantasia.

Cherdonna’s performances walk the edge between dance and comedy while playing with the tropes of drag performance. Her technical prowess is put in pursuit of awkward, sometimes dangerous, feats. She is fearless as a performer and her shows always leave you guessing what could happen next. Which could be just about anything in a show which promises to draw on Carl Sagan’s classic Cosmos series, Kate Bush, Diane Keaton, and Marie Antoinette.

Get your tickets before this opportunity passes you by! There will be some rush tickets available each night at 7 p.m. at the door. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, $15 for students or seniors.
