We haven’t seen the latest edition but we really enjoyed the previous incarnation of Mark Siano and Opal Peachey’s sexy fun burlesque-y show BOHEMIA which is doing an encore run at The Triple Door after a successful engagement/debut at Café Nordo a couple years back. The HYPER sexy show takes place in a fin de siècle world using music by Dvorák and Chopin, with a set inspired by the art of Alphonse Mucha and all under the embrace of the Green Fairy known as absinthe.

It opened last weekend and has one weekend to go…check out the gorgy photos, read more about it below and snag those tix!

How do you get people to give a damn about classical music? Make it fun, lively, and add plenty of drinks and a whole lot of sex appeal. From the award winning creative team that wrote and performed the sell-out hit Seattle Vice comes a cabaret about love, classical music, art nouveau, green fairies, and absinthe. Opal Peachey and Mark Siano bring Bohemia to the historic Triple Door Main Stage this January. Off-Broadway musical theatre director Brandon Ivie (Lizard Boy, Jasper in Deadland) is at the helm of a show that will have absinthe sipping audience members on their feet for this cabaret re-imagining of classical music.

Bohemia by Mark Siano and Opal Peachey is a new musical set in 1890s Prague that combines the music of Dvorák and Chopin, with a set inspired by the art of Alphonse Mucha. Historic artists like Sarah Bernhardt and George Sand interweave with beautiful green fairies, aerial numbers, dance, burlesque, classical piano battles, comedy, and original songs.

The story centers around famous Czech composer Antonín Dvorák who has hit a wall and prior to composing his magnum opus. In a move of desperation he turns to a bottle of absinthe for inspiration. In this macabre and mystical dream cabaret, Dvorák is visited by the ghost of late composer Frédéric Chopin and a host of green fairies. Chopin and many other famous Bohemians guide Dvorák as they search for the true source of inspiration and grasp at artistic immortality.
