Rock For Pride was founded in 2014 by Jack Mozie with the vision of creating a pride event that centers
LGBTQ+ musicians and their allies. With mentorship from Shaun Knittle, Jack developed the event as a
fundraiser for Social Outreach Seattle, and it quickly became a vibrant celebration of queer music,
performance, and community.
What began as a simple concert has evolved into a multifaceted pride tradition, featuring drag shows,
dance showcases, and partnerships with local organizations like Pride ASIA and Entre Hermanos.

History of Rock for Pride
When the COVID-19 lockdown took effect, Rock For Pride adapted by transitioning to virtual shows—featuring pre-recorded performances and PSAs from
Seattle artists and community groups—ensuring the event could still connect and uplift even in isolation.
In recent years, one of the most exciting milestones has been the expansion to an all-ages event, welcoming families into the celebration. Rock For Pride has
become a cornerstone of the Greater Seattle Area’s queer arts scene, offering a platform for both new and returning performers like Creature Hole and Jack
Mozie to build their audiences and deepen their community connections.
Now a proud program of Evoke Cascadia, Rock For Pride’s mission has grown. Beyond hosting an annual event, we are committed to providing opportunities
for queer artists.
At its heart, Rock For Pride is more than just a show. It’s a movement—one that uplifts LGBTQ+ artists, fosters meaningful collaborations, and opens doors for
emerging talent to thrive in a supportive and inclusive space.
