Pride Asia’s RICE BALL Is Saturday At Neighbours!

Pride events tend to cluster around in June but there’s now SO MANY EVENTS that we’re seeing them happen earlier and earlier. The lovely folks at Pride Asia are getting an especially early start for 2026 with their “RICE BALL: Celebrating LGBTQA Asian Pacific Islander Heritage” happening on Saturday, May 2nd at Neighbours Nightclub on Capitol Hill. This year’s hosts are Empress of Seattle Dutchess Manila-Starr and Miss Gay Seattle Maya Mem Saab. And, if you check out their Facebook page, you can see more entertainers scheduled to perform.

Note: this is obviously an event being produced by and for the LGBTQA Asian and Pacific Islander Community. For specific cultural community events, I always look for information on the public invites indicating “All are Welcome!” If such wordage appears, then take it to mean they really do welcome anyone to attend, even if they’re not part of that specific cultural community. If those words don’t appear, then assume that you probably shouldn’t attend the event unless you’ve been personally invited by someone FROM that specific cultural community. That’s just being respectful of that community but also remember that if you’re in doubt, just reach out to them.
