I’m making this brief. The weather is FINALLY divine outside and we want to enjoy it and we’re NOT going to be chained to our computers all weekend. Besides, we’re all exhausted from last week’s Pridebrouhaha and everyone’s out of town so we’re not posting 10 things today for an audience of 4 people. Who wants to websurf when it’s GORGEOUS out!
She’s most famous for being BOOTED off American Idol a thousand years ago, and for the flimsiest of reasons, (naughty photos? Who CARES!) but the power voiced diva Frenchie Davis has made a nice little career for herself, post-Idol infamy, working the club circuit and doing musical theater, her first love, and her recent appearance on “The Voice” and the bombshell singer is popping into Sea Town tonight for a gig at Neighbours starting at 10pm, tonight, July 2. That big voice and dynamic stage personality is always worth checking out.
Meanwhile, over at Oddfellows Hall a block away from Neighbours, you can check out the HOT and PATRIOTIC drag/burlesque show from the megastars behind “DeLaRue Presents”, a new production company from Kitten LaRue (The Atomic Bombshells) and BenDeLaCreme (Homo For The Holidays). “Freedom Fantasia is the ridiculously zexy new show that opened Friday night and it runs through Sunday night in the West Hall at Oddfellows and frankly we’re feeling guilty we haven’t covered this more on the site and we had wanted to do an interview with the lovely Ms LaRue and Ms DeLaCreme, but the time suck of Pride Festivities put a kibosh on that happening, so apologies to them for not doing more to promote this show. We’ve seen their shows before, and “DeLaRue” events ALWAYS have high production values, professional polish and huge entertainment worth. Here’s the skinny on “Freedom Fantasia”:
Freedom Fantasia” is the new theatrical extravaganza combining song, dance, burlesque, theater and old-timey stage spectacle to celebrate and lampoon the exhilarating highs and questionable lows of America and Americana.
Featuring a bombastic and diverse cast of Seattle’s drag, cabaret, music, burlesque, and contemporary dance all-stars, “Freedom Fantasia” promises to deliver a fusion of unique talents in one outrageous star-spangled parfait of patriotic pulchritude.
