The Sads: Man dies at Club Z

September 16, 2011• bySeattle Gay Scene

Capitol Hill Seattle had the story earlier Thursday, that a man died at the Club Z bathhouse, 1117 Pike Street on Wednesday.

Seattle Fire tells CHS crews responded to a report that a man in his 40s was unconscious but breathing at the men’s club. The man died as medics attempted CPR.

Police were called to the scene to investigate a possible drug overdose.

We spoke to someone at Club Z and their report differs slightly from the Fire Department. The man was reportedly discovered in the steam room and a Club Z employee performed CPR but the man was allegedly already dead and rigor mortis may have already started to set in, which would indicate the man would have been dead for at least 3 to 4 hours prior to the discovery of the body.

We’re not going to be the slightest bit snarky about this, because it’s not funny, but we do have to say, this would be a terrible way to go…or, at least the most embarrassing. I’d hate to have to be the one to call up this man’s next of kin and have to answer the question, “Where did this happen?” Awkward.
