Everyone’s up in arms about the great state of Indiana and their awful new “Religious Freedom” law which allows bigoted businesses to not serve anyone they don’t feel comfortable serving because they don’t approve of those people’s “chosen” lifestyle…aka “We Don’t Serve Homos” Law.
Indiana has a long history of being awful, going back decades. The “Hoosier” State has given us the following atrocities:
1) The KKK
In the earlier part of the 20th Century, Indiana, despite being a “Northern State” was a hotbed of Ku Klux Klan activity with much of it centered around Kokomo, Indiana.
Yes, you’ll never listen to that Beach Boys song again without feeling revulsion….
2) The Honorable James Danforth Quayle
Our 44th Vice President of the United States and a forefather in the Republican Party’s determined battle to introduce extremely stupid people into American politics. Blandly handsome, in a J.C. Penney mannequin sort of way, this imbecile served as VP under King George Bush the First. He is best known for arguing with a fictional television character about her state of unwedded motherhood.
3) Ms Ann Romano
Whiny, strident divorcée and single mom to two problematic daughters: one peanut headed, but good, and the other, drug AND acne riddled and very bad. Prone to clutching men and crying, “Hold me, David! I’m scared!” but also frequently found hectoring anyone near her about the joys of second wave feminism. Had a 30 minute nervous breakdown when she turned 35 because she was now “middle aged”. Was a closeted tap dancing fool and grumpy ginger.
