DARQNESS: a queer and trans people of color party – w/ TAFFY DALÉ
May 1, 2015 @ 10:00 pm
Hey QTs, it’s almost time for the May 1 edition of DARQNESS: a queer and trans people of color party at MAXIM’s. Come and dance with fellow QTPOC in a safer space to the hottest hiphop, r&b, dancehall, latin, club, house, and more, provided by TAFFY DALÉ and DARQNESS resident REVEREND DOLLARS.
21+/$5
3 year resident of Seattle, TAFFY DALÉ grew up in the contrasts of rural Indiana, the coastal city of Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela and the majority of her time in Miami, Florida. This diversity of places, peoples and cultures is evident in her enthusiasm for everything from 90s pop, hardstyle reggaeton & booty bass to witch house, trap rap & electronica.
REVEREND DOLLARS is a Seattle-based DJ/producer who is the resident DJ and organizer of DARQNESS: a queer and trans people of color party, and whose most recent release, Arson EP, was praised by The Stranger as “a cauldron of peak-time, fast-twitch bass music, blazing with party-igniting exhortations, airhorns, A+ funk samples, and heavy-weight-champ percussion.”
