The All Star “8” Is Sold Out But Intiman Festival Tickets Now On Sale

We told you about Intiman’s big local all-star reading of Dustin Lance Black’s “8” his play about California’s Prop 8 controversy, back in April.The event is happening tonight, Monday, June 4, 2012 at the Intiman Playhouse at Seattle Center and it’s sold out but you might try for Stand By seating at the door. The cast includes Hans Altwies, Mark Anders, Kurt Beattie, Burton Curtis, Valerie Curtis-Newton, Allen Galli, Jon Lutyens, George Mount, Marianne Owen, Timothy Piggee, Andrew Tsao, John Ulman, Richard Ziman and many more local actors. Following the reading, a public discussion will be held with Dan Savage, Washington State Human Rights Commissioner Charlene Strong, Equal Rights Washington Executive Director Rod Hearne, and Director Valerie Curtis-Newton. David Ward of Legal Voices will moderate.

If you missed this chance for some great theater, then you have another opportunity to enjoy theater at Intiman as tickets for the theater’s 2012 summer festival went on sale today. The line-up for this year includes Romeo & Juliet, Hedda Gabler, John Patrick Shanley’s Dirty Story and the world premiere of Dan Savage’s drag comedy, Miracle! The four plays run in repertory beginning on July 5th and concluding on August 26, 2012. Tickets available HERE!
