Planes, Cruises, & New Destinations: Reaching OUT to the LGBT Traveler
June 15, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm
Our June Tourism Luncheon features a panel moderated by Tom Norwalk, CEO, Visit Seattle, and panelists: Kyle Levine, Alaska Airlines; David King, Airbnb; and Kelly Clark, Holland America Line sharing their strategies and successes in marketing to the LGBT community.
We are also thrilled to welcome special guest Isel Calzadilla Acosta, a leader in Cuba’s movement against homophobia. Isel works with Cenesex to build a nationwide LGBT network. Cenesex, Cuba’s LGBT/AIDS organization, is funded by the government and headed by Mariela Castro (daughter of Raul Castro). Isel will address human rights and new travel opportunities in Cuba, and whether it is safe for the LGBT community to be out during their travels to Cuba.
This is a unique opportunity to learn more about a destination open for the first time to tourists and what other changes we can expect to see in Cuba. Whether you’re in the industry or not, the panel discussion is sure inspire new ideas and approaches to marketing your business!
