Isel Calzadilla Acosta is founder of “Las Isabelas,” the first lesbian organization in Cuba, and works with CENESEX (Cuban National Center for Sexual Education) to build a nationwide LGBT network. The organization is funded by the government and headed by Mariela Castro (daughter of Raul Castro).
As a special guest during our annual tourism luncheon, Isel will address human rights and new travel opportunities in Cuba, and whether it is safe for the LGBT travelers to be out during their travels to Cuba. The luncheon also features a panel moderated by Tom Norwalk, CEO, VisitSeattle, and panelists: Kyle Levine, Alaska Airlines; Mason Smith, Airbnb; and Kelly Clark, Holland America Line sharing their strategies and successes in marketing to the LGBT traveler.
