It’s two great tastes that go together…the annual Fremont Fair/Solstice Parade/Nekkid Hippies on Bikes event AND the Seattle Erotic Art Festival are happening this weekend over in Fremont and for fans of naked people and zexy art, it’s a double treat. The Fremont Fair gets under way tonight with a sneak peek but the main attraction is Saturday’s Solstice Parade which starts at noon and features the previously mentioned naked (but body painted) folks on bicycles plus all sorts of cool floats, masks, music and a lack of motorized vehicles or any advertising other than “World Peace”. There’s also the hundreds of booths on hand and concerts and all sorts of events and activities that continue through Sunday.
If you like all kinds of erotic art including paintings, sculptural, film and performance based, then head over to Fremont Studios for the 10th Annual Seattle Erotic Art Festival which opens Saturday at 10am and goes until 2am and continues on Sunday from 11am to 8pm. (The show also happens NEXT weekend, Fri/Sat/Sun.) The Erotic Art Show showcases a huge variety of art and depicts an even huger variety of sexualities and “kinks”…there’s somethin’ for everyone from bondage to fetish to furries to exhibitionism to the most vanilla and tender of love acts. Three Dollar Bill Cinema has curated some short queer films for the festival and there’s live performances from Sinner Saint Burlesque, The Shanghai Pearl, Waxie Moon, Tigger! and a whole slew of sexy artists.
And, yes, there are PLENTY of queer artists and their art represented as well!
