We’re VERY confused why the GSBA is holding “Face to Face: An LGBT Business & Community Forum” at EIGHT AM on Friday, September 22nd…why the ungodly early hour? Yeah, it’s a “business” forum where members from the Greater Seattle Business Association will ask the candidates for 2017 municipal races all the Big Questions on how the candidates will not only support the LGBTQ community but also serve the LGBTQ business community as well. Both mayoral candidates Jenny Durkan (an out lesbian) and Cary Moon are scheduled to attend.
But….EIGHT AM?!?!
Good news: it’s free! And, it looks like it’s open to the public, or at least ones up and around and able to take off work to attend!
All the poo:
This is the candidate forum you do not want to miss!
A panel of GSBA members representing the breadth of our organization will be asking questions to candidates for some of the most important races in our region, including Mayor, Seattle City Council, and Port Commission.
Hear where our future leaders stand on issues of importance to the LGBT community, small business, and equitable economic development for all communities. What is their vision for supporting the LGBT community, which makes up an estimated 14% of Seattle’s population? How will they bring equity to the parts of our community who need it most? Do they understand the needs of small businesses in America’s fastest growing city?
