Hey all, just a save-the-date for you all. The Extra Life Marathon is coming up, where we game for 24 hours to raise money for Seattle Children’s Hospital. Typically, we are able to raise a few thousand dollars as a team – we’ve started with $3000 goal but can always raise it!

Couple quick notes:

1. We do 12 hours Saturday, 12 hours Sunday, with time to sleep in between. That means 10AM-10PM Sat, 10AM-10PM Sun. (Times are TBA but these are the times we did last year.)

2. You don’t have to attend the whole time! If you want to drop by for a few hours, that’s cool. You do not have to join the team to attend (though it’s encouraged). If you are participating as a team member, technically you need to do 24 hours of gaming, but you can always make up any missed hours on your own.

3. Gaming includes anything that could be construed as a game. Past years have included lots of board games and video games (PS4, Wii U, etc.).

4. The event is free but donations are encouraged, particularly if you are not participating in the whole 24 hours to help us meet our goal.

5. You do not have to attend the physical event to join the team! It’s encouraged and probably more fun, but if you live in Zanzibar (for example) but want to be part of our team, you can feel free to game on your own or figure something else out. We’ve had team members who did a lot of solo gaming, including live streams, and raised a lot of money.

6. We have not live streamed the event in the past, but if someone is keen on it and knows how to do it, feel free to get in touch. 🙂
