VICTOR JANUSZ BAND featuring Arwen Dewey brings a Hot August Night to the cool, beautiful Royal Room in Columbia City! VJB displays an eclectic sound that fuses classic rock, blues and jazz with Singer-Pianist VJ’s original repertoire of tunes –while “covering” songs from all genres (Leonard Cohen, Boy George, Brandi Carlile) The concert features the newest CD “Café Pluvieux” featuring vocalist Arwen Dewey (“Saint-Malo” “Prince of Piece of Mind”) as well as selections from “Living In A Blue State” (2015) and “Cosmo Street” (2005). Opening the night is THE KLEIN PARTY: TKP explores the Top One Million songs from all the Old Countries. This clarinet-saxophone-accordion-ukulele-bass quintet brings a jazz sensibility to klezmer freylachs and bulgars, gypsy dance music, sentimental Italian tunes, novelty Americana, country-and-western favorites, Yiddish theatre music and the occasional opera aria. Sabrina Pope, clarinet; Brandon Campbell, saxophones; Mark Lutwak, accordion; Eric Ray Anderson, ukulele & vocals; and Joe Casalini on the the contrabass.
