Hey! Our lovely friends at Seattle Theatre Group have given us a pair of tickets to giveaway for this weekend’s show at The Moore! “Voices of Strength” is a terrific dance show inspired by and created by African women and there are two big shows this weekend, Friday, September 28th and Saturday, September 29th with doors at 7pm and the show at 8pm. AND, each night has a different program, so you might want to go both nights…For dance lovers, this is a must see show.
We’re giving away a pair of tickets to experience “Voices of Strength” (you pick which performance) and we’re keeping it simple this time…FIRST person to reply in the comments gets the tickets! (And, please only reply if you really want to go…)
Here’s more info on the show and here’s where you can buy tickets.

Inspired by conversations with and work created by African women living and working on the African Continent, this program highlights a two evening mini-festival and accompanying humanities activities, to introduce these often overlooked voices to eager new audiences.  Presented in collaboration with MAPP International Productions and the African Contemporary Arts Consortium.

From dance rooted in and showing connections to tradition, to cutting edge performance that makes satirical use of classical conventions, the choreographers employ humor, irony, poignancy and power to reference personal obstacles as well as political and social themes, as they articulate women’s struggles toward empowerment.

September 28, Program One

Nadia Beaugre’ (Cote d’Ivoire) QUARTIERS LIBRES

September 29, Program Two
