But there is no way in which the authors of the page can rightly convey the magnitude of Ms Franklin’s contributions to modern music, to pop music, rhythm and blues, gospel, hip hop, rock n roll, Black music…..nor can they speak to the life stories of love, heartbreak, joy, family, spirituality, the struggle and Black power…. that she was able to infuse in her music, the songs she wrote, in the songs written by others, in shaping the way we exist in the world, the soundtrack!
