Bawdy Storytelling- the girl who wants to put her Heidegger in your Derrida – presents an evening of real world Einsteins with big libidos and even bigger IQs. Our handpicked line-up of pervy brainiacs will put down their copy of Kant’s “Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals,” put their pants back on, & spend their Thursday night telling you true stories that illustrate where their ‘intellect’ and ‘sex drive’ Venn diagrams intersect. Performer Bios:

❤ A Seattle-based comedian, writer and comic book reader, Elicia Sanchez has been performing all over the West Coast since 2010. She has been called “fearless” by City Arts Magazine, “a grumpy nugget of delight,” by writer/activist Lindy West, “a local favorite,” by The Stranger and “a brilliant new voice everyone should know,” by comedian Hari Kondabolu. Grammy Award winning singer/song-writer Kimya Dawson (The Moldy Peaches, Juno) has cited Sanchez as her ‘favorite underground Northwest comedian’ while W. Kamau Bell, comedian and creator/star of the critically acclaimed FXX series Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, once said, “Elicia Sanchez is the truth.” Elicia has performed at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot, Emerald City Comicon and has appeared on NPR, The Bob Rivers Show and the television show “The [206].”

❤ Sexual Folklorist Dixie De La Tour founded Bawdy Storytelling, the Nation’s original sex and storytelling series almost 10 years ago (Bawdy is a national live storytelling event that welcomes true stories from any and all communities – LGBTQIA, kink, polyamory, swingers, vanilla, you get it) plus in addition to her success with sex and storytelling, now she’s created her brand new storytelling series, Bona Fide Storytelling. Dixie has been lauded as a “masterful emcee, and her show is everything that works for storytelling—she creates a warm, safe space in which stories can bloom with dark hilarity, salacious textures, and moments of deep connection.” Dixie has hosted and curated Bawdy Storytelling events in oh-so-many US cities, and she works with each storyteller, crafting and curating, to make sure that each evening of storytelling is a cohesive whole.
