  • « Medical Records RX: DJ Sh1-tr, Dr. Troy, and Lord Phatrick
  • Haunted Happy Hour: B-Movie Bingo – 21+ »

Celebrate arts education by joining us at the Bringing Books to Life Fundraiser Luncheon on October 28!

This year we’re holding a luncheon from 11:30am-1:00pm at the Rainier Club, 820 4th Ave, Seattle. City Librarian Marcellus Turner will speak about the importance of literacy.

Proceeds from this event fund Book-It’s touring stories, in-class residencies, teacher training, student matinees, and community programs for youth.

Last year, with your help, we reached 60,000 students and educators throughout Washington State with Book-It’s arts and education programming. We are grateful for your support of our literacy work in schools.

Want to help Book-It’s Arts & Education Programs? RSVP at http://bit.ly/BookItLuncheon16, or email ians@book-it.org for more information.

Book-It would like to thank our generous sponsors for this event:
– Boeing
– Lydig Construction
– D.A. Davidson & Co.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
