Campout Cinema: The Thing – 21+
October 8, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
This event is 21+.
Dir. John Carpenter (1982, R, 109 min.)
In John Carpenter’s take on the 1950s classic, The Thing (1982), a group of research scientists in remote Antarctica must battle against a vicious alien creature before it picks them off one by one.
Grimmer than its predecessor, this sci-fi thriller employs visceral, rubbery gore effects and a jarring electronic score as a terrifying accompaniment to pilot R.J. MacReady (Kurt Russell) and the rest of the team’s plight to fight a violent lifeform that can take on the disguise of whatever it consumes.
Tickets include admission to Can’t Look Away: The Lure of Horror Film and Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction.
