CATHEDRALS XII: Adra Boo, Maiah Manser, The Banner Days, more + Sound Bath w/ Daniella White & Daniel Blue
June 4, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
6/4* CATHEDRALS XII: indie bands simplified down to only their voices perform in the massive St Mark’s Cathedral. Singers this year include: Adra Boo ( Fly Moon Royalty), Maiah Manser, The Banner Days ( Bradford Loomis & Beth Whitney), Kelli Schaefer (Portland), Hope Simpson ( Ever-so-android), Nouela O Johnston, Phinisey (Tacoma) and special guests. All performing short sets with no instruments.
Enjoy the sunset filtering through the amazing windows at St Mark’s Cathedral while listening to some of Seattle’s most powerful voices. Concert will run 8-9:30 followed by a “Giant Sound Bath” experience at 9:45-11pm.
+ New this year we are also offering a sound bath experience led by Sound Healing with Daniella White and featuring Daniel Blue ( motopony). Bring yoga mats or blankets. See below for tickets information.
FAQ:
Q: “What is a giant sound bath?”
A: “It’s a sonic bath, where you are bathed in the vibrations of 3 large gongs, 10 crystal bowls, and vocal toning. The experience entrains your brain into Theta, where stress is released and healing can happen. It also usually leads to a night of deep restful sleep.” – Daniella
Q: “What’s a’capella?”
A: “Without instrumental accompaniment.” Don’t expect the classic college style a’capella concert but no instruments will be used for this show. Local bands either remake their own songs or sing covers, sometimes with backing singers or just their own voices.
Q: “What’s a quiet picnic?”
A: We welcome attendees to bring blankets, cushions, etc. and sit or lay around the entire massive cathedral space. You’re welcome to bring in food too as long as it can be eaten quietly and doesn’t smell up the place (ie. no Paseo :-). No outside alcohol though, we have a bar in the lobby with local cider & wine with all profits going to charity.
Q: “I’m with ____ blog or news outlet, can’t I take photos?”
A: Silent cameras only please. No audible shutters allowed due to the pin drop quiet of these concerts. No flash.
