The Entertainment:
DJ LAWGURL has been the resident DJ at Fire Nights for over a year and has played at Chocolate Kisses, two of the longest running QPOC parties in Seattle. She’s also thrown her own events, Eat the Cookie and Dyke-a-Holics. Lawgurl is a true East Coast girl with PacNW love. She loves to DJ ratchet hip hop, old school hip hop, r&b, ratchet pop music, and booty bounce.
REVEREND DOLLARS is a Seattle-based DJ/producer who is the resident DJ and organizer of DARQNESS: a queer and trans people of color party, and whose most recent release, Arson EP, was praised by The Stranger as “a cauldron of peak-time, fast-twitch bass music, blazing with party-igniting exhortations, airhorns, A+ funk samples, and heavy-weight-champ percussion.”

The Space:
MAXIM’s is owned and operated by queer women of color: “We believe Maxim’s belong to the community, and we cater to the needs of the community, because we understand that there is no unity without a community. Maxim’s is a safe, loving space to socialize, while feeling the positive vibe and healing powers from music and laughter.”
Accountability statement:
DARQNESS is intended as a safer space for queer and trans people of color, organized by QTPOC, as an alternative to queer spaces where our needs, safety, and comfort are not prioritized. Allies and fellow partygoers are asked to acknowledge and respect the QTPOC-centric nature of the space. Please be respectful of fellow partygoers’ boundaries or you will be asked to leave.
Transportation:
On Rainier, near the corner of Rainier and Orcas. Accessible by 7 and 9 buses.
Accessibility info:
The main floor of Maxim’s is wheelchair accessible. The two main bathrooms are up a flight of stairs, but there is a staff bathroom on the ground floor which is available for use by partygoers who cannot navigate stairs.
All bathrooms will be gender-neutral for this event.
Partygoers are asked to reduce their use of scented products.
