Depressed Cake Shop
October 7, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
“Where there is cake, there is hope. And there is always cake.” – Dean Koontz
NAMI Seattle’s annual event, the Depressed Cake Shop, is coming up on Saturday, October 7, 11am-2pm for Mental Illness Awareness Week!
The Depressed Cake Shop raises awareness of mental health conditions by offering sweet, sad treats crafted by local bakeries that get people talking about depression and other mental health issues.
The baked goods follow a theme: The outside of the cake/cupcake or dessert is colored grey, representing the ways that mental illness can weigh us down or dampen our light, while the sweet (and sometimes colorful!) interior symbolizes hope.
All proceeds benefit NAMI Seattle and help keep NAMI programs free for everyone who needs them.
For other information on how to participate as a bakery, sponsor, or volunteer, please visit our website at namiseattle.org/depressed-cake-shop.
We will have limited quantities of vegan and gluten free confections available – get there early!

Dogs and kids are welcome! Mental health affects us all.
