ESTRANGED SENSATION
April 27, 2016 @ 8:00 pm

Come on and feel the void.
This new night is a multi-media/multi-sensory experience for folks seeking refuge from the encroaching vulgarianism of the usual high-tech/low-soul suspects. Resident DJs DEGENERATE and VEINS conjure spiritual and alien drones and eccentric electronics to counter worker-drone conformity. This night will embrace some of the dissociation that is being experienced in Seattle while also reflecting the energies and emotions of those who wish to join us in keeping this city weird and wonderful. ESTRANGED SENSATION offers interactive and fluid expressions of media that aim to represent the specifics of this space and time. Estranged Sensation is for people into Sarah Davachi, Demdike Stare, Popol Vuh, Mort Garson, Jon Hassell, and other sonic outliers who channel the ineffable. All of this, plus the healing aromas of essential oils.
PULLING OUT THE LIGHT (FURTHER RECORDS – LIVE)
Pulling Out The Light (aka Briana Jones) has emerged as one of the city’s most compelling electronic musicians; her long-form, beatless pieces plumb chthonic depths of mood as she extracts bizarre textures from her gear, conjuring fascinating dystopian vistas. There’s a lot of such perilous sci-fi soundtrackage floating around now, but Pulling Out the Light’s ascends to higher planes than most.
