DESCRIPTION:
Funhouse is recurring late-night play anthology inspired by The Twilight Zone, Black Mirror, Saturday Night Live, Mr. Show and Adult Swim. Funhouse is a collection of subversive and experimental original content. Our show serves as a rotating platform for diverse, up-and-coming and established playwrights, directors, actors, and designers. The creators of Funhouse want artists to take bold risks in their storytelling.
Funhouse was created by Brian Toews. The first show was co-produced and directed by Anna Ly, Brian Toews, and Chris Quilici. It received its premiere at Eclectic Theater in Seattle, WA June 2017 to a sold-out run.
Funhouse II was directed by Brian Toews, Dylan Gervais, Maddy Noonan, and Mario Orallo-Molinaro and premiered at The Slate Theater in October 2017 selling out three of four performances.
CASTING NEEDS
Seeking at least 4 actors of color.
Ensemble of 8-10 actors.
Our Funhouse III ensemble will include actors that identify as womxn, people of color, LGBTQ, people with disabilities, and any member of currently or historically marginalized groups.
This is a show for mature audiences (18+), and we have encouraged subversive and/or experimental work. Please read the scripts before auditioning: http://bit.ly/2DTIEAU
Audition Requirements:
Tell us a 90 second story from your life (true or fictional) and sing 16 bars of a song. You don’t have to sing well, but you do have to sing.
Please bring a resume and a headshot.
Monetary compensation:
$30 honorarium

No problem! Let our stage manager, Barbara Cawley, know at barbara.c.cawley@gmail.com and we can arrange for you to drop-in at callbacks on February 25.
Can’t make it to auditions AND callbacks?
No worries! You can video record your audition and send to funhouseanthology@gmail.com with headshot and resume.

A few notes about the audition app and signing up process:
· The slots have been set up for 5 minutes each
· Simply put in your full name in a slot and follow the directions from there.
· Slots are first come, first serve. Selecting a slot quickly is encouraged if you have specific time constraints.
· Currently there is no way for actors to retrieve the audition time from the site once you’ve signed up, so please record your audition time before closing out the app process.
· If at any point you need to change your time slot, please cancel your original slot first, then follow the link to book a new slot.
