Written and directed by the Emmy®-nominated team of Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg, Marathon: The Patriots Day Bombing revisits the April 15, 2013 bombings at the Boston Marathon through the emotional experiences of individuals whose lives were forever changed by the attacks.

Covering the events of Marathon Day through the sentencing of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev two years later and up to the 2016 Boston Marathon, the film features a wealth of surveillance footage, news clips, home movies and behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with several survivors and members of their families. In the wake of a heinous act of terrorism, we witness a newlywed couple, a mother and daughter and two brothers – all gravely injured by the blast – facing the enormous challenges of physical and emotional recovery as they and their families strive to reclaim their lives and community. Also included are interviews with first responders, investigators, government officials, law-enforcement officers and reporters from the Boston Globe, which won a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the bombing.
