Robert E. Livingood plays rebellious music for wild dancers.

For two decades this Detroit native has inhabited the far north, studying grizzly bears and throwing bush parties within the vastness of Alaska and British Columbia. Robert was content living amidst big animals and playing marathon eight hour sets for tribes of back to the land dance freaks, but lately this elusive producer/DJ has begun to catch international attention. Promotors from music festivals such as Shambhala, Basscoast, and Burning Man, as well as LA’s indomitable Black Lodge have recently lured Robert from his mountain enclave to transmit his wild style of genre bending dance music which ranges through the territories of techno, dark wave, Italo, house, new wave, and disco. His new EP, “Free,” offers four tracks of minimal, analog dark wave and was released on Berlin’s respected Emerald & Doreen Recordings in Sept. 2018. This winter has also seen two of Robert’s DJ mixes featured on the distinguished “Something Spaecial” radio show out of Berlin, and North America’s preeminent disco show, “Ain’t No Big Thing.”
