Leather History of Seattle
March 18, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Hi everyone
Leather Pride week is coming up fast, and with it just around the corner, I wanted to take a moment and announce an awesome event that we have planned for all of you. Leather Pride is all about celebrating not just our love of Leather but also the community we have formed around that love, and the stories and history of that great community. So what better way to kick off the week then with a discussion about history of the leather community here in Seattle?
We will start with a tour of The Cuff Complex lead by Daddy Jeff. For many of us the Cuff is our home bar, so come learn about all the different nooks of the cuff. See how the bar has expanded over time and learn where some of the art work has come from and the importance of the memorial wall.
Afterwards, we will be meeting on the dance floor for a talk with Daddy Jeff and Dr Danger about some of the history of the leather community right here in Seattle. There is a lot of knowledge to be shared and this is a great way to honor and celebrate the past.
Also, feel free to stick around after for the WSMLO bbq starting at 4:30

A little bit of history about the photo
Here is a photo from the 1984 Washington State Leathermen Contest. Doug Connell was the winner and went on to compete and win the Northwest Leathermen Contest (BC, OR, WA). Doug was the 1st Leatherman from WA to compete at IML 6 in 1984.
