LGBTQ Allyship People of Color Know Your Workers’ Rights Workshop
October 8, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Allyship is inviting all LGBTQ identified People of Color to attend a Workers’ Rights workshop on Saturday, October 8
The workshop will be led by QTPOC labor educators. This is a great opportunity to learn about labor standards in Seattle and what your rights are at work. We recognize that workers experience a lot at the intersection of race, sexuality, and gender and we want to help empower folks with knowledge about your labor rights. Allyship will be discussing the significance of labor laws through an LGBTQ+ and POC perspective.
Join Allyship on October 8 at 11am, at 321 16th South Avenue in the Central District (Washington State Labor Council), to learn your rights and what you can do to make sure they are upheld. This workshop is specifically tailored for people who identify as LGBTQ and people of color and will be lead by trained POC labor educators.
There will be refreshments, games, and a lot of great information to dive into to help protect ourselves and our working loved ones in community from labor violations.
This event is wheelchair accessible, bus accessible and parking is convenient for community members with mobility challenges. Please refrain from wearing scents. If you have other accessibility issues please contact info@allyship.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.
