I Was the One at Home
by Paul Mullin
Food and family factor deeply into this chapter from THE STARTING GATE about the night in the house on Sweet Air Road when it was just Paul, his step-dad, and his step-dad’s massive left hemisphere stroke.
Says LOUD MOUTH LIT’s curator, Paul Mullin:
“As a playwright, I advocated for fresh, organic, local grown theatre, with an accelerated turn-around time (think “farm-to-table”). Now that I’m writing more prose, poetry and short stories, I realize that the same philosophy applies, that’s why LOUD MOUTH LIT is:
• Fresh, local, organic. If it’s good for food, it’s good for art.
• Focused on the range of amazing writers in Seattle and the surrounding area. I want to know what they’re working on right NOW!
• Face to face, live, and intimately irreproducible.
