POP + Hip Hop: History of the Battle @ MoPop

Take an in-depth look at hip-hop’s evolution, its diverse voices, unique styles, and influence beyond music at MoPOP’s POP+ Hip Hop.
This year, we’re exploring the dynamic and creative hip-hop “battle.” From emcees engaged in lyrical combat to dancers showcasing their latest moves,the battle is where hip hop’s students and masters hone their craft, find community, and celebrate a culture in its most raw and authentic form. We’ll have artifacts on display from hip hop greats, like Grandmaster Flash, Sha Rock, The Notorious B.I.G., and more, plus performances from local artists and a film screening.
