Queer Nature Weekend in Cascadia
October 14, 2017 @ 9:00 am - October 15, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
Queer Nature is visiting the Cascadia as alumni’s of Wilderness Awareness School!
Are you an LGBTQIA+ identified and/or gender non-conforming person who is interested in learning earth-based skills with other queer folks in a safe and empowering space? Join us for an overnight at Linne Doran led by two queer Anake graduates, Pınar and So Sinopoulos-Lloyd. Pınar and So are the founders of Queer Nature, a Colorado-based organization devoted to teaching and learning ancestral skills within the LGBTQIA+ community. We will focus on some basic nature-connection practices and survival skills, delving into the ancient art of friction fire-making to deepen our relationship with our inner and communal hearth, and then engaging with some subtler awareness practices and scout-craft to hone our intuition and channel our instincts into tools of compassionate protection. We look forward to exploring the ecological aspects of our queerness, both in our unique gifts as queer and in-between people, and in the wonder of nature’s ability to mirror our diverse ways of belonging to the world.
