Why are queer artists important? We’re hoping you will share your reasons for being queer artists (or supporting queer art) and help raise money for Gay City Arts in a campaign we’re calling #QueerArtistBecause

***BUT KEEP POSTING IN THE DAYS AND WEEKS AFTERWARD***

We’ll be launching our video on December 3rd, 2015 at 10am, and are asking three things:
1. That you to share it.
2. We’d also love it if you’d tweet about it on Dec 3rd, using the #QueerArtistBecause hashtag.
3. And, finally, it would be super great if you’d shoot and share your own 30-90 second video explaining why you are a queer artist. (It can be simple, on your phone, nothing fancy is required.) Send us a link and it will be added to our page.

We’re asking you to prepare for this now because if we can get a lot of people talking about it at the same time (Dec 3rd, starting at 10am PST), then we can make more of an impact or even get it trending. Our hope is to get a conversation going that will last at least a few weeks.

We are doing this because art is not only a powerful tool for social change, but also a critical vehicle for voice, in this case QUEER VOICE! We’re hoping to inspire so much enthusiasm for queer art that the video (and the movement for queer art) go viral.

Please mark yourself as going if you’ll be able to participate in spreading the word and sharing your own #QueerArtistBecause story, and invite your friends who you think might be interested, especially those who are queer artists!
