LIGHTS & LUMINARIAS
Discover new perspectives as you walk the Z Path lit with hundreds of luminarias. The park’s monumental sculptures typically can only be seen during daylight hours, but for this special evening the collection will be lit to new scale. Get in on the action by wearing lights and becoming an art installation yourself!
OUTDOORS
SAM Performs: Throughout the evening, take part in energetically explosive processions of music and light down the Z Path with Filthy Femcorps.
SAM Lights Installation: Greener by Iole Alessandrini and Ed Mannery
At the Olympic Sculpture Park’s grand opening in 2007, Iole Alessandrini installed Greener, a series of lasers and custom-designed optics in the Gates Amphitheater. Take part in this sensory exploration once again, as SAM Lights brings the work back to celebrate the park’s 10 years.
SAM Lights Installation: Water Stone by Mollie Bryan
Water Stone is a light art reflection of the strength and perseverance of the Standing Rock Warriors. “Always be like a water. Float in the times of pain or dance like waves along the wind which touches its surface.” – Santosh Kalwar
SAM Lights Installation
A key partner in creating the Olympic Sculpture Park, The Trust for Public Land presents an interactive installation in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the park.
SAM Lights Installation: Immemorial by Andy Behrle
Immemorial is a monument to timeless moments of the past, present, and future. Digitally capturing reflections of water, Behrle casts the imagery through a translucent obelisk. The organic patterns stretch and fade as they saturate the geometric monolith.
