Seattle LGBTIQA Community Leaders Mixer
September 24, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Greetings!
I hope this finds everyone well. Please look over the information below and let us know if you are able to attend, also feel free to add any community leaders you think would be a great fit for this event, but please, we are going to be meeting in a private home so we ask that you be selective in your invites, this is a PRIVATE 1St meeting.
**Special Note: the driveway is shared by 2 homes so we ask that people find parking on the street and just walk up the drive.
Ok so now down to business and why we are reaching out to you:
For the last 10 years Dr. Michael Failla has been rescuing LGBTQI people from the bullies and haters in places like Iraq, Libya, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Syria. He has helped many of the people get into the US.
Several years ago, Michael met FBI Agent Aimee Funasaki, who specializes in tracking and apprehending the bullies targeting minorities and committing hate crimes against them.
Over the years Agent Funasaki has proven herself to be a valuable resource, friend and supporter of Dr Failla’s efforts.
Due to the Trump administration policies Dr Failla has changed course and is now getting persecuted people into Canada.
This is why we wanted to reach out to you now. It is glaringly obvious that under Trump in the US and internationally the LGBTQIA community is experiencing an escalation of Hate Crimes at an alarming rate. The bullies have become emboldened. We must fight back! This is a call to arms!
We are looking to form a network of community leaders in the Seattle LGBTQIA community to help get the word out about the resources that are available to victims. This network hopefully will grow organically throughout the community creating and intricately woven safety net for all LGBTQIA people in the region. Because of your unique influence and leadership we are inviting you to a “meet and greet” gathering at Michael’s home to introduce the LGBTQIA community to Agent Aimee Funasaki of the FBI.
We think it’s important that people in the LGBTQIA community know that they are not alone and should the need arise, who they should contact if they are being threatened.
FBI statement from Aimee: “The FBI encourages leaders in the LGBTQI community to be vigilant about having those affected by hate crimes report these crimes in order to bring their perpetrators to justice. There is nothing to fear from law enforcement. We are here to protect and to serve everyone.”
