SAM Performs

Tango Alpha Tango
Portland’s four-piece band Tango Alpha Tango is a gritty fusion of blues and rock and roll. Powerful guitar, rhythmic and driving bass grooves, and a touch of psychedelic keys blend together for full-on, adventurous sound.
SAM Creates
6–8 pm
“Disguise Tapestry” art activity with Sandra Farmer
We all wear masks, whether literal or imaginary. Sometimes a smile may disguise our thoughts, or we wear a complete costume to inspire new reactions. On a piece of fabric, respond to SAM’s Disguise exhibition with your experience of wearing a mask. Decorate, adorn, embroider, and stitch your work into the tapestry of other responses.
Spend the rest of the evening drawing! Capture the sculptures, plant life, and beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound through self-guided drawing.
My Favorite Things: Highly Opinionated Public Tour
6:45 pm
My Favorite Things tours bring some of the most opinionated and fascinating artists, cultural producers, and community figures into the galleries to discuss their favorite works of art.
