Together for Justice & Equity Reception
June 2, 2016 @ 6:30 pm
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Anderson-Murray Anti-Discrimination Law to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people from discrimination. However, as we have seen first-hand this year, our fight for justice and equity is not a destination, but a journey. Our rights, if left unprotected, are vulnerable to attack and repeal.
Now is the time to stand together with our friends, family and allies to ensure Washington State remains a place where the LGBTQ community has a future. We have had some remarkable wins, but for the most vulnerable in our state, we continue to fight to ensure people’s basic needs are met – education, housing, healthcare, employment, and access to public accommodations.
Our community is strong and resilient, but only if we stand and fight together. Join Equal Rights Washington for our annual Together for Justice and Equity event, hosted by the incomparable and dynamic, Aleksa Manila.
Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday, June 2nd!
