Show Description –
The Show: Wikipedia describes Solid Gold as “an American syndicated music television series, featuring musical performances. What set Solid Gold apart was a group of dancers in revealing costumes who at various points in the program performed various (and sometimes borderline risqué) dances to the top ten hits of the week. Reviews of the show were not always positive, with The New York Times referring to it as “mini-dramas…of covetousness, lust and aerobic toning routines that typically have a minimal connection with the songs that back them up.” Fans of Solid Gold will get to see touchstones of the 70s/80s TV show live: flashy costumes, circular set pieces, and glittery flop sweat! They will hear cheesy hits from the past, full-throated lip-syncing, and the steamy panting of the dancers! They will sense the energy, and also feel that they could easily become Solid Gold dancers themselves, in fact, pretty much anyone could!

Producer bio –
The Group: This is the very first show for Busted Ankle Dancers, a comedy dance troupe that is the brainstorm of Jennifer Parker and Craig Trolli. Both of these performers grew up watching Solid Gold and have been talking forever of doing a loving parody of it. None of the dancers are what you would call a trained dancer. We’re going to learn how to dance ‘on the job’, proving that anyone with a dream in their heart can become a Solid Gold dancer! And we’re happy to have snagged Anita Goodmann as our hostess, and other dancers including local celebs Adé, Amanduh, and Peter Farrar, plus the comedic musical stylings of Gail Hebert!
