Victor Victoria
July 23, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
In 1982 Blake Edwards and wife Julie Andrews created the movie musical Victor Victoria which instantly became a gay classic, and Silent Cherries Productions brings it to life on the Rebar stage! Victoria Grant, alone and broke in Paris, is befriended by a flamboyant nightclub performer named Toddy, also down-on-his luck. Together they hatch a scheme for Victoria to impersonate a male Female Impersonator named Victor, and she/he takes Gay Paris by storm. But when she falls in love with a visiting Chicago gangster, her life becomes much, much more complicated.
Rebar’s intimate space is perfect for putting the audience literally in the middle of the action. The cabaret orchestra provides live accompaniment to the performances, and the costumes will dazzle even the most jejune viewer. Those unfamiliar with the film will be as delighted by this production as die-hard fans. Number of performances are limited, as are seats, SO GET TICKETS EARLY! Do not miss VICTOR VICTORIA!
