Originally released as “Communion” in 1976, Alfred Sole’s colorful cult thriller “Alice, Sweet Alice” is as close to an Italian giallo film as anyone in the U.S. ever made! Set in suburban New Jersey in the 1960s, the story follows a strange twelve year old girl who is accused of a series of grisly murders in her Catholic community. She swears she’s innocent, but if she didn’t kill them – who did? Starring Paula Sheppard as Alice, Linda Miller as her perpetually distraught mother and Brooke Shields in her first ever role as Alice’s tormented little sister Catherine. This is a moody horror flick with very effective gore and a twist you won’t soon forget!
