Welcome Back Concert: Die Walküre (SOLD OUT)

*** UPDATE 8/3/2021: The concert is officially sold out. However, all are welcome to come down to Seattle Center to enjoy as the music of Richard Wagner’s iconic opera. The performance will include jumbo screens which will be visible from various non-ticketed areas of the Seattle Center Campus. ***

In celebration of our community and our return to in-person performances we invite you to join us for a spectacular outdoor event: our Welcome Back Concert of Die Walküre.This abridged version of Die Walküre will feature more than two hours of Wagner’s incredible music kicking off with the ever-popular and blood-stirring “The Ride of the Valkyries.”
In this concert version of the opera, audiences will be treated to an internationally-renowned cast of Wagnerian stars. Two-time Grammy Award winner Eric Owens, “an American marvel,” (Chicago Sun-Times) makes his Seattle Opera debut along with the “dramatically fearless” (The New York Times) tenor Brandon Jovanovich. Plus we are excited to welcome back Washington native and Richard Tucker Award winner Angela Meade, our spectacular Tosca soprano Alexandra LoBianco, and lauded base Raymond Aceto. Wagner’s larger-than-life masterpiece is brought to life by members of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and conducted by former Music Director Ludovic Morlot.
*Seating is festival-style and “first come, first served” on the Fisher Pavilion lawn. Blankets and/or low beach chairs with a total height of 26” are permitted anywhere in the seating area. High-backed chairs (seat higher than 12” from the ground or the top of the back is taller than 32′ from the ground (excluding wheelchairs) will be required to move to the back of the lawn area in order for everyone to be able to see. Inflatable chairs are not allowed.
